Imo State University Bans Students from Signing Out Inside Campus

Students at Imo State University, Owerri, were left shocked as the school management suddenly stopped all sign-out celebrations within the campus. Security officers reportedly locked the main gates, blocking students from carrying out their usual end-of-exam jubilation.

According to reports, the university management said the move was necessary to maintain order and discipline on school grounds. They emphasized that all forms of sign-out celebrations must now take place outside the university premises.

Many students, however, feel the decision is too harsh, especially for final-year students who see sign-out day as a moment to celebrate years of academic struggle and success.

Security personnel were seen stationed at key points around the school to ensure strict compliance, as several students who arrived with shirts and markers for the celebration were turned back.
