“I’m too young for this crisis” – Man recalls losing job, child and nearly losing wife in one week

A Nigerian man has opened up about one of the most difficult periods of his life, revealing that he and his wife lost their jobs, lost their baby and nearly lost his wife within the space of one week.

The man, identified as II Moses on Facebook, shared the emotional experience while encouraging people going through difficult seasons not to give up.

Moses recalled how overwhelmed he felt during the painful period, saying he once looked up to the sky and questioned God about why he was facing such a crisis at a young age.

> “That day, I looked up to the sky and said, ‘Lord, please, I am too young for this crisis.’”

According to Moses, 2024 was an especially difficult year for his family as several devastating events happened within a matter of days.

> “We lost our job, our baby, and my wife almost d!&d, all within the space of one week,” he wrote. > “The year 2024 no do us well.”

Moses said the death of his baby left him emotionally devastated, particularly as he was also afraid that he could lose his wife.

He recalled leaving the hospital after receiving the news and expressing his anger and pain directly to God.

> “When I was told that our baby had d!ed, I went out of the hospital and confronted God,” he wrote.

He added:

> “I said, ‘If you take away the life of my wife, I am going to k!|| myself. You can’t do that.’” > “I was not joking then.”

Moses said the overwhelming pain affected the way he prayed and communicated with God during that period.

According to him, he eventually stopped praying in the way he had previously done and instead began expressing his emotions honestly.

> “I literally stopped praying and started telling God exactly how I felt,” he stated.

He acknowledged that some people may have experienced similar moments when their circumstances became so overwhelming that they struggled to pray.

> “I don’t know whether you have ever been in a situation where you stopped praying and started telling God exactly what was in your heart,” he wrote. > “That was exactly what happened to me.”

Reflecting on the difficult period, Moses said life can sometimes become overwhelming without warning.

> “Sometimes, life can catch us off guard, and if we are not careful, the trouble can consume us,” he stated.

He explained that happiness does not mean a person will never encounter hardship.

> “Many of you don’t know this, but happiness is not the absence of trouble. > “There will be days when everything will seem to be going wrong. > “There will be days when you will not even know what to say to God.”

Despite everything he experienced, Moses encouraged people going through difficult seasons to continue praying, even when they struggled to find the right words.

> “But when those seasons come, pray,” he wrote. > “Even when you don’t have the right words, pray.”

He said he was sharing his experience to encourage anyone who currently feels overwhelmed or believes that God has abandoned them.

> “I am sharing this to someone going through a lot and thinking God has forsaken them. > “You will be fine. > “Las las, we all go dey alright…”

His story has since generated reactions on Facebook, with users reflecting on grief, faith, resilience and the challenges people sometimes face privately while appearing fine outwardly.
