House of Rep member  Shares ₦26m to APC Excos Weeks After Senator’s ₦135.6m Splash for Sallah

House of Reps member Abdulkadir Rahis, representing Maiduguri Metropolitan, has disbursed ₦26 million to 442 APC executives in his constituency for Sallah celebrations, Daily Trust reports. The move comes shortly after Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan made headlines for giving ₦135.65 million to party executives in the same area.

Rahis, who just won the APC primary with 20,509 votes and is seeking a fifth consecutive term, said the cash gift is part of his “long-standing tradition” of supporting party loyalists during festive periods. He previously served five terms as Maiduguri Metropolitan Council chairman before moving to the green chamber.

The open display and transportation of cash drew mixed reactions online. While party executives praised both lawmakers, critics questioned the optics of distributing huge sums publicly.
