Hisbah Arrests Man Over Alleged Illicit Relationship With Former Wife
The Hisbah Command in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State has arrested a man over allegations of maintaining an illicit relationship with his former wife, who is now married to another man.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, M. Maidoki.
According to the statement, the woman reportedly left her matrimonial home after informing her current husband that she was going to collect her mobile phone, which had been taken to a charging point.
The statement said she subsequently met the suspect at a secluded location, raising suspicions that prompted the intervention of the Hisbah authorities.
The agency said investigations conducted under the supervision of the Dutsinma Hisbah Commander, Malam Shafiu Ibrahim, established that the suspect was the woman’s former husband.
The circumstances surrounding the meeting are being investigated by the authorities.
In another development, our heritage Reporter online reports that tragedy struck at Ogungbade village, near Ayerose village in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, after a man identified as Tajudeen Yekini allegedly killed his wife, Tioyin Edunjobi, in their apartment.
The incident occurred at about 10:30pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in the presence of the couple’s son.
The cause of the disagreement between the couple could not be immediately ascertained. However, residents said their son raised the alarm, attracting neighbours who rushed to the apartment and found the woman lying motionless.
