Hardship May Trigger Protests in Nigeria If Unaddressed in a Couple of Weeks — Primate Ayodele Warns

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that Nigeria may face widespread protests if the current economic hardship is not urgently addressed by the government.

In a recent message, the cleric cautioned that the growing cost of living, food inflation, and general economic pressure could push citizens to express their frustration publicly if no meaningful relief is provided within the next couple of weeks.

According to him, the situation is becoming increasingly difficult for many households, and failure by authorities to act swiftly could lead to unrest in different parts of the country.

“Hardship is increasing, and if the government does not take urgent steps within a short period, it may lead to protests in many areas,” he warned.

Primate Ayodele urged the government to implement immediate economic measures that would reduce the burden on citizens, especially the poor and vulnerable; He stressed that proactive intervention is necessary to prevent avoidable social tension.
