Gunmen Allegedly Abduct Six Passengers
Six passengers have allegedly been abducted following an attack by suspected armed bandits in Ijagbe, Mopamuro Local Government Area, Kogi State, on the evening of Thursday, February 27, 2026.
According to an eyewitness account obtained by Egbe Mekun Parrot, the attackers reportedly emerged from the bush along the Ijowa–Ijagbe axis and opened fire on a commercial passenger bus travelling through the area.
During the attack, the bus driver was allegedly shot and critically injured, and was said to have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for urgent medical attention.
The eyewitness further claimed that six passengers — five males and one female — were allegedly abducted by the assailants, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.
As at the time of filing this report, security agencies and the Kogi State Government are yet to issue any official statement or confirmation, while residents of the area remain deeply worried over the growing security concerns in the local government area.
