Groups Appeal to President Tinubu for Justice in FMC Owo Leadership Selection

…….As Stakeholders Raise Alarm Over Alleged Irregularities in FMC Owo CMD Appointment Process……

A coalition of youth groups, students, and stakeholders from Owo and Ose communities in Ondo State has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure merit, fairness, and transparency in the ongoing selection process for the position of Chief Medical Director (CMD) at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo.

In a strongly worded statement addressed to the President released to our heritage Reporter online, the groups expressed concern over alleged irregularities in the process and warned that failure to prioritize competence and credibility could threaten the future of the health institution.

They urged the Federal Government to intervene and safeguard the integrity of the appointment process in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Full statement reads;

AN APPEAL FOR MERIT, FAIRNESS AND JUSTICE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS OF  CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR AT FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE,  OWO, ONDO STATE

AN APPEAL TO OUR FATHER AND LEADER HIS EXCELLENCY

His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,
President and Commander-in -Chief of the Armed Forces,
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Thank you, Mr. President for laying the foundation to prosperity and embarking on the bold, audacious decision to build the Nigeria of our dream. The foundation laid, will be the rock where our treasure lies and posterity remembers.

Owo as a community in Ondo State has contributed the highest number of votes in the last presidential election in the entire 18 local government of Ondo stare which they are ready to deliver more in the coming election in line with the renewed hope agenda.

Consequently, it is important to bring certainly to the attention of Mr. President, one issue, that may impede this enormous progress in the health sector, with particular reference to FMC, Owo.

We have lamented far too long as a people to get the best out of not just education, science and technology but most important of all, the health sector. Where most times we become helpless face to face with sometimes those who do not know managing our survival. This great risk demands that only the best and most competent must be given the chance that can unalive or save our souls.

Your Excellency sir, your choice to place merit and competence side by side in the Renewed Hope Agenda has given us the confidence to write this publication for your emergency action to save the Federal Medical Centre Owo from imminent collapse.

For the first time in decades of existence of the federal medical centre in Owo, our people have struggled to get it right. We believe this is the best of time, if we miss it now, we may just about have a “Death Medical Centre” in Owo.

Mr. President sir, one – Joseph Ayeyemi ,the current acting MD of FMC, Owo, has been misleading the selection process by addressing himself as a professor, even without a basic academic progression in any University across the country. This is a fraudulent act  and impersonation to mislead our president.  We heard that the Federal government through the Federal Ministry of Education has said  that doctorate degree should not be  use as a prefix.  Our system obviously has not deteriorate to this state.

In the light of which as a people, we will like to call Mr. President’s attention, with particular reference to the interest of Owo.

Mr. President sir. You have spent far too much in revitalizing many sectors in Nigeria, including the health sector under the masterstroke Renewed Hope Agenda for us to miss this golden rebirth.

Our leader, this is the cry and lamentation of the Owo and it’s environ. Your intervention as a father and leader will be forever remembered by the people of Owo and we will pay back in kind.
