Governor Sacks Top Aide Over Premature 2027 Election Campaign
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has dismissed one of his aides for engaging in premature political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to government sources, the aide’s removal followed a series of warnings issued by the governor against any form of early campaign or political mobilization within his administration. Governor Sule reportedly emphasized that such actions violate the electoral laws and distract from the ongoing governance agenda of his administration.
In a statement released by the Government House, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the law and maintaining focus on delivering good governance to the people of Nasarawa State rather than political maneuvering.
He also cautioned other appointees and political associates to desist from any act that could be interpreted as campaigning before the official timetable is released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The governor’s decisive action has sparked mixed reactions across political circles in the state, with some commending his discipline and adherence to due process, while others view it as a move to maintain firm control over his political structure ahead of 2027.
