The statement, titled “Tinubu vs Obi: Lagos vs Anambra Who Did What?”, aims to highlight what the group describes as the factual governance records of both leaders during their time in office. Emphasizing “record over noise,” the group presents a side-by-side analysis covering key areas such as economic growth, infrastructure, education, political structure, and long-term legacy.
According to the convener, Banji Alabi Esq, the comparison is intended to inform public discourse with verifiable achievements and institutional impact rather than political sentiments.

TINUBU vs OBI AS GOVERNORS
Lagos vs Anambra — Who did what?
1. MONEY & ECONOMY
Tinubu – Lagos: Met IGR ₦600M/month in 1999. Left it ₦7BN+/month in 2007. Created LIRS, Alpha Beta. Built IPP with Enron.
Obi – Anambra: Met IGR ~₦400M/month. Left it ₦1.5BN/month in 2014.
No LIRS-style agency created.
2. ROADS & PROJECTS
Tinubu: Lekki-Epe Road, LASTMA, LAMATA, LAWMA, BRT blueprint, Eko Atlantic start. Built institutions that still run.
Obi: Fixed Onitsha roads, erosion control, new Secretariat. ANIDS projects. No transport agency or BRT legacy.
3. EDUCATION & HEALTH
Tinubu: Returned mission schools, cleared teacher arrears, WAEC scores up. Built LASUTH, free antenatal care.
Obi: Returned schools too, grants to missions. Moved Anambra from 24th to 1st in WAEC. Upgraded COOUTH Teaching Hospital.
4. JOBS & EMPOWERMENT
Tinubu: Created LASTMA, LAWMA, KAI — thousands of direct jobs. Lekki Free Trade Zone. Lagos became HQ for banks/telcos.
Obi: ANIDS: communities chose projects. Gave vehicles to schools/hospitals. Attracted SABMiller, Innoson. No mass job agency.
5. POLITICAL STRUCTURE
Tinubu: Built structure that lasted. Installed Fashola, Ambode, Sanwo-Olu. Survived OBJ seizing LG funds by creating 37 LCDAs.
Obi: No structure survived him. Obiano left him in 2 years. APGA lost Anambra. Obi’s LP candidate came 3rd in 2025.
6. MENTORSHIP
Tinubu: Raised Fashola, Osinbajo, Gbaja, Fayemi, Aregbesola, Sanwo-Olu + dozens of ministers/senators. National network.
Obi: No governor or major national figure calls Obi his political mentor. Key aides went separate ways.
7. LEGACY THAT REMAINED
Tinubu:LIRS, LAMATA, LASTMA, LAWMA, PPP Office, Security Trust Fund — all still running 20 years later.
Obi:ANIDS
. No agency like LASTMA/LIRS still bearing his model.
BOTTOM LINE:
Tinubu ran Lagos like a CEO — grew revenue 10x, built institutions, raised men, left a machine running 24 years after.
Obi ran Anambra like a manager — cut waste, saved money, improved exams, but left no structure, no men, no engine.
