God’s Wrath Is Coming’: Primate Ayodele Warns CAN, PFM Over Silence on Government’s Failures
Prophet Ayodele has warned Christian leaders that God’s wrath is coming upon those who know the truth but refuse to tell the government the truth. He specifically mentioned Christian organisations such as CAN and PFM, questioning whether God’s presence was still in their midst.

Ayodele said the prayers of some Christian leaders were no longer reaching the throne of God because their prayers were no longer acceptable. He accused them of failing to tell the government the truth because of what they wanted to gain, insisting that they should speak up instead of allowing personal interests to influence their positions.
He particularly criticised some bishops whom he accused of coming out publicly to endorse President Bola Tinubu without first asking God for direction. Ayodele said God had not sent some of them to deliver the messages they were presenting, adding that they were speaking for their pockets. He stressed that their pockets and their mouths were what mattered to them.
Ayodele also spoke about Prophet Bamidele Elijah, whom he described as a good man of God and a genuine prophet. He said he believed Elijah was not fake and praised the way he spoke boldly to different people, giving them his honest opinion. However, he warned that Elijah had gone too far in his position on Tinubu’s continued presidency.
Addressing Bamidele Elijah directly, Ayodele advised him to take it easy, saying Nigerians would not appreciate all the noise he was making in support of Tinubu’s continuity. He questioned whether Elijah believed the government would appreciate him, adding that the APC government might simply turn its attention away from him instead of thanking him for his support.
Ayodele said he was giving Elijah candid advice because he liked the way vhe spoke and believed he had a good heart. He stressed that he was not making the statement to become his friend but because he wanted him to understand that Nigerians were suffering more than his comments appeared to acknowledge.
He further argued that if the government wanted to arrest Elijah for speaking the truth, he should allow them to do so. According to Ayodele, a prophet should have the voice of the people and should be prepared to stand by the truth rather than deviate from that responsibility.
Ayodele also expressed disappointment with Christian organisations, particularly CAN and PFM, saying he no longer saw some of them as properly representing the body of Christ because they had become political bodies. He questioned whether the Christian community would benefit from political announcements and endorsements, asking whether the government would return to address the suffering of Christians after such declarations.
He said the body of Christ was suffering and expressed surprise that some pastors and other religious leaders who had received anointing were failing to address the situation adequately. He accused some pastors and bishops of being compromised, although he said he would not mention everybody’s name.
Ayodele argued that some of these religious leaders were unable to see beyond the physical aspects of events because they lacked sufficient spiritual insight. He described some pastors and bishops as myopic in their spiritual understanding, saying they were failing to look beyond what was physically visible.
He maintained that Christian leaders should tell the government the truth and pay attention to the suffering of Nigerians rather than allow political interests to influence their public positions.
