The recently inaugurated 3rd Ondo State Children Parliament has sparked widespread praise, as it represents a bold step by the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in promoting child inclusion in governance and nurturing leadership from an early age.
The Governor, while inaugurating the parliament, charged the young lawmakers to speak up, stay creative, and dedicate themselves to leaving a positive mark in their communities. His call was clear—the future belongs to the prepared, and preparation starts now.
Reacting to this development, Dr. Olajide Owoka, a frontline aspirant for the position of APC State Chairman in the forthcoming Congress, described the initiative as a masterstroke in leadership engineering. According to him, “This is how legacies are built—not just by policies, but by people-focused ideas that empower the next generation.”
He continued, “The Children Parliament is not a ceremonial act—it is a working template for raising responsible citizens. It offers young people a rare window into governance, democracy, and civic duty, transforming their potential into purpose.”
Dr. Owoka commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for planting leadership at the grassroots of youth consciousness, noting that initiatives like this turn classrooms into council chambers and dreams into dialogue.
In the spirit of Democracy Day, Dr. Owoka extended heartfelt wishes to all APC leaders, members, and stakeholders across Ondo State. “On this Democracy Day, I salute every party faithful and progressive mind committed to the ideals of freedom, justice, and participatory governance. May our shared vision for a greater Ondo State continue to flourish,” he said.
He further pledged his unreserved support for the Governor’s vision and expressed his commitment to align with people-centered policies if elected:
“Your Excellency, I, Dr. Olajide Owoka, salute your exceptional foresight and dedication to the growth of our party and state. If entrusted with the mantle of leadership as the next APC State Chairman, I will work hand-in-hand with your administration to amplify this vision and create an even stronger, more inclusive party platform. Dr. Owoka concluded that Ondo State, under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s watch, is not merely governing—it is grooming greatness.
He also affirmed that the Governor’s initiative fulfills the biblical injunction: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14, NIV).
