Fresh Crisis Hits NDC & APM as Legal Adviser Faces Possible Jail Term Over Alleged Dual Membership
Just as Peter Obi and Kwankwaso move to the NDC, the party is already facing fresh drama!
The National Legal Adviser of both NDC and Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Barr. Reuben Egwuaba, is allegedly holding dual membership in both parties; a move that violates the Electoral Act.
According to activist Julius Aondowase:
“By virtue of the amended electoral provisions… belonging to more than one political party at the same time is expressly prohibited. The law is clear… any individual found guilty of dual party membership is liable to a fine of up to ₦10 million and or a prison term of up to two years.”
He described it as “not a clerical oversight” and called for immediate investigation.
Questions for you:
Is this another sign that the opposition is already in disarray even before 2027?
Can NDC survive these early crises with big names like Obi and Kwankwaso joining?
Or is dual membership just politics as usual in Nigeria?
