Former INEC Commissioner Emerges As ADC Consensus Governorship Candidate Ahead Of 2027 Race

DAMATURU – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Yobe State has selected former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commissioner, Kassim Gana Geidam, as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election. Party leaders reportedly reached the decision after internal consultations aimed at strengthening the ADC’s position ahead of the coming political contest.
Sources within the party said Geidam’s experience in public service and electoral administration played a major role in his emergence.
The announcement has already attracted reactions across Yobe political circles as parties continue early preparations and strategic alignments ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
