The popular Nigerian “throuple” known as the Feral Throuple has officially come to an end after Jeffrey and Chidinma announced that they are no longer in a three-person relationship with their third partner, Precious.
In a video shared on their social media page on Saturday, the couple confirmed that the arrangement involving the three of them had ended. They stressed that the decision was not the result of any scandal, fight or dramatic incident.
“We are no longer in a three-person relationship. There is no scandal or dramatic story or reason behind it. It’s just simple; relationships evolve, relationships change. It’s really sad, but we all tried our best,” Chidinma said.
Jeffrey also claimed that he did not expect the relationship to end.
He said, “We really tried our best and I didn’t see this coming because we felt like we would be together forever, but it just didn’t work and we decided to move forward,” he said.
The couple also maintained that they still believe in polyamory and polygyny despite the end of their three-person relationship.
Precious, who had been described as the “spiritual wife” in the arrangement while Chidinma remained the legal wife, responded to the announcement.
On a post announcing that “the Feral Throuple is now Jeffrey and Chidinma,” Precious commented, “Please can you now kindly delete all my videos from the page thank you.”
She also shared a series of cryptic posts around the same period. One read, “Sitting down to make a video is so funny but what do I know, everyone would be fine eventually,” while another was captioned, “Becoming everything I needed for myself.”
The posts have since fuelled speculation among social media users about what may have preceded the split.
Some observers also noted that Precious had shared pictures and videos accompanied by cryptic captions in the weeks leading up to the announcement, which some interpreted as hints that the relationship was heading towards an end.
When fans later asked her to do a “story time” about the breakup, she responded, “Lol, the person that sat down to make a video should do a story time, don’t you think?”
The Feral Throuple gained attention on social media for publicly documenting their unconventional relationship, with Jeffrey and Chidinma’s relationship expanding to include Precious.
Their latest announcement marks the end of that arrangement, although Jeffrey and Chidinma said they intend to continue their relationship and remain committed to their beliefs about non-monogamous relationships.
