Enough Is Enough”: Ose Erupts Over Alleged Marginalisation in Owo/Ose reps seat

A fresh wave of political pressure is building within Owo/Ose Federal Constituency as voices from Ose Local Government intensify calls for fairness in the zoning of the House of Representatives seat.

What began as quiet concern has now evolved into a coordinated push by socio-political groups, party stakeholders, and citizens across party lines, all insisting that Ose must retain the seat in the interest of justice and political balance.

At the heart of the agitation is a growing perception of imbalance. Many within the constituency argue that presenting another candidate from the Owo axis at this time would reinforce an already skewed power structure. With Owo currently holding significant influence across key state and federal positions, advocates for Ose say the only path to sustained unity is through deliberate inclusion and equitable power distribution.

Elders and community leaders from Ose have also weighed in, pointing to a long-standing pattern of uneven representation since the return to democracy in 1999.

According to them, Owo has consistently dominated major political offices; from executive leadership to federal appointments, while Ose has had comparatively limited opportunities. This historical context, they argue, strengthens the case for continuity in Ose’s hold on the federal legislative seat.

Within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the conversation is gaining urgency. Some party members have openly appealed to leadership to consider the broader implications of their decision and cede the ticket to Ose. They maintain that such a move would not only correct perceived imbalance but also foster unity within the party and the constituency at large.
