El-Rufai Accuses Kaduna Police of Constitutional Breach Over Summon
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has condemned the Kaduna Police Command for summoning him over alleged criminal conspiracy and public disturbance, describing the action as a “dangerous descent into lawlessness.”
The summon followed the police’s alleged disruption of an African Democratic Congress (ADC) meeting and accusations against El-Rufai and seven ADC members. They were directed to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8.
At a press conference, El-Rufai argued that the commissioner acted unconstitutionally, insisting no valid court order had been served. He vowed to challenge the matter in court, warning that “further steps will follow.”
