Eight Zamfara Lawmakers Set to Return to APC After Meeting with Tinubu
Eight lawmakers from Zamfara State who recently resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have reportedly resolved to return to the ruling party following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

The lawmakers met with the President on Sunday night in a meeting aimed at addressing their grievances and resolving the issues that led to their departure from the APC.
They were reportedly led to the meeting by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, alongside a member of the House of Representatives, Aminu Sani Jaji.
The development comes amid reports that the lawmakers were considering defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), an opposition party.
However, following their meeting with Tinubu, the lawmakers are said to have abandoned plans to join the ADC and resolved to return to the APC to work for the party’s success in the 2027 general election.
Sources indicated that efforts were underway to address their grievances and ensure a smooth return to the ruling party.
Their anticipated return is expected to boost the APC’s political strength in Zamfara State as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The eight lawmakers and their constituencies are:
Aliyu Ango Kagara – Talata Mafara South
Ibrahim Tukur Bakura – Bakura
Faruk Musa Dosara – Maradun I
Bashir Abubakar Masama – Bukkuyum North
Muktaru Nasiru Kaura – Kaura North
Nasiru Abdullahi – Maru North
Bashar Bello – Bungudu West
Bashar Aliyu – Gummi I
The reported development represents a significant political shift in Zamfara State, where the APC is seeking to consolidate its position ahead of the 2027 polls.
