Egbada Community Banishes Man and Family Over Alleged Witchcraft and Charm-Burying

Mr. Emelike Orji and his entire family have been banished from Egbada community in Igburu Land, ONELGA Local Government Area of Rivers State, to an unknown destination.

The banishment follows a dramatic incident in which Mr. Orji was allegedly caught burying a charm in the compound of Sir Anderson Olowu within the community. According to residents, he was confronted and forced to confess by angry community members.

In his confession, Orji reportedly admitted to frequently transforming into a cat to carry out his operations. He further claimed responsibility for rendering many men and women in Egbada community jobless and “useless” through his alleged occult practices.

The Egbada community, in conjunction with the King of Igburu Land, took the decision to excommunicate and banish Mr. Orji and his family. Community sources described the resolution as an emphatic and unanimous decision taken after due consultation.

As of press time, the whereabouts of Mr. Emelike Orji and his family remain unknown.
