EFCC Uncovers Chinese-Operated Illegal Diesel Refinery in Ogun
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly uncovered an illegal diesel refinery allegedly operated by Chinese nationals in Ogere, Ogun State, days after the arrest of 14 Chinese nationals and one Nigerian over suspected illegal lithium processing activities in the same area.

The latest discovery has drawn attention to Ogere, where the commission’s recent operations have exposed alleged illegal industrial activities involving foreign nationals.
The uncovering of the diesel refinery comes amid the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to tackle economic and financial crimes, illegal business operations and activities capable of undermining Nigeria’s economy and regulatory framework.
The development also raises fresh concerns about the monitoring of industrial activities and the enforcement of environmental and business regulations, particularly where foreign-owned operations are involved.
Further details about the refinery, the identities of those allegedly behind its operations and possible arrests or prosecutions are yet to be made public
