Don’t Desecrate The Judiciary – GRA Campaign Slams Adelegbe Over ‘Ere Ni Wan Se’ Comment

The Ghani Rotimi Arobo for Member, House of Representatives (GRA4MHR) Campaign Organization has condemned what it described as a reckless and uncouth attack on the nation’s judiciary by the outgoing member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe.

In a statement signed by its Director of Publicity and Public Engagement, Ojo Bright I. Eniafe, the campaign said its attention was drawn to a trending video where Hon. Adelegbe appeared visibly agitated and ridiculed the competence and integrity of judges of the Trial Court and Court of Appeal.
According to the campaign, Hon. Adelegbe, in a desperate attempt to rally his dwindling support base, employed the Yoruba expression “Ere ni wan se” while boasting of an imaginary Supreme Court abracadabra, thereby portraying the judicial process as a mere game.
The group noted that such comments, coming from a lawmaker of eight years, amount to an outright desecration of the judiciary, which remains the last hope of the common man. It added that words capable of undermining another arm of government have no place in public discourse.
The GRA4MHR campaign stated that while it understands the Appeal Court verdict may have negatively impacted Hon. Adelegbe, the outcome should not come as a surprise as it only reaffirmed the clear will of party members expressed on May 16th, 2026.
The campaign stressed that while its candidate was campaigning across communities and building structures from the unit level, those who sat far away awaiting a godfather’s announcement cannot justifiably attack the justice system.
On the substantive matter, the campaign insisted that Hon. Adelegbe neither participated in nor won the primaries of May 16th, alleging that he held a parallel primary in his ward in Ose LGA.
It questioned how his name ended up with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing it as the eighth wonder of the world whose demystification is the solemn duty of the judiciary he now seeks to tarnish. The group added that the anomaly has been corrected by the lower court and the Court of Appeal to preserve law and order and strengthen democracy.
The campaign said it will explore every available legal avenue under the Constitution and will refrain from further comment on the substantive matter so as not to prejudice the process, but maintained that the judiciary remains a sacred institution that must be shielded from political shenanigans.
It further stated that it expected a measure of decency from an outgoing representative who enjoyed eight years of uninterrupted support made possible by party faithfuls, who it said had continuously cried marginalization under Hon. Adelegbe and have now withdrawn that support.
The group reaffirmed that its campaign is rooted in the determination to change the status quo and deliver the greater good for the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, adding that history will record those who chose to attack the judiciary rather than accept the verdict of the people.
