Demand for Impactful Representation Grows in Ohaji/Egbema as Coalition Endorses Chudi Evans”

In a time when the Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency urgently needs effective representation at the National Assembly, the Coalition for Good Governance has called on a capable and vibrant young leader to step forward and serve.
The coalition, led by Hon. Adimonye Duke, stated that the House of Representatives seat for the constituency is currently lacking impactful representation. According to him, the current occupant has not met the expectations of the people, and there is a strong need for a more committed and results-driven representative.
He further emphasized that the constituency has a long-standing understanding of rotational representation, with a preference for one term per representative, ensuring fairness and inclusivity across the region.
In light of this, the coalition is calling on Hon. (Barr.) Chudi Egwe Evans to declare his interest in contesting for the seat, describing him as a qualified, experienced, and compassionate leader.
Barr. Chudi Egwe Evans has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the people through his philanthropic efforts, even without holding public office. Through the Chudi Evans Foundation, many individuals have benefited from empowerment programs, access to free education, soft loans for farmers, and various forms of support for the less privileged.
The youths of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, and Oru West Federal Constituency therefore strongly urge him to step forward and offer himself for service, believing that his leadership will bring meaningful progress and renewed hope to the constituency.

Hon. (Barr.) Chudi Egwe Evans is a Nigerian legal practitioner,l, entrepreneur, and advocate for justice, governance reform, and community development. Born on December 14, 1984, into the family of Late (Engr.) Emmanuel Egwe and Dr. (Mrs.) Cordelia Egwe, he hails from Umunkwo Village in Obiakpu Autonomous Community, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.
He began his educational journey at Army Children School, G.R.A., Port Harcourt, where he completed his primary education in 1996. He proceeded to International Secondary School, Rivers State University, graduating in 2002. Driven by a passion for law and justice, he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2010. He further attended the Nigerian Law School, where he earned his Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification in 2011 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012.
In 2020, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) with distinction in his dissertation from the University of South Wales. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Rivers State University, pursuing a Ph.D. in law. In the same year, he was sworn in as a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Hon. Evans is the Pioneer Managing Partner of Dace-Law Attorneys & Partners, where he provided strategic leadership across multiple legal practice areas. In addition to his managerial responsibilities, he led the firm’s corporate law, real estate, and human rights litigation divisions. He has built extensive experience in criminal litigation, with a strong focus on human rights advocacy and pro bono legal services, consistently defending indigent persons and promoting access to justice.
Beyond his legal career, Hon. Evans has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial leadership. He is the Executive Director of MIMIC GLOBAL NIG LTD, a company he founded with core interests in real estate, building, and general construction. He also serves as a Director of Brooks Spring Academy Group of Schools, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, contributing to the advancement of quality education and institutional development.
He currently serves as the Country Director of the Initiative for Freedom, Conflict Prevention & Social Integration (FREECON), a civil society organization focused on promoting accountability, strengthening governance, and addressing maladministration within public institutions. Under his leadership, FREECON has actively engaged in public interest litigation, including filing strategic lawsuits and defending vulnerable citizens.
He is also the founder of the Callys Chudi Evans Foundation, a philanthropic initiative dedicated to education and community development. Through the foundation, he has awarded scholarships to over 50 students from his immediate community and facilitated the registration of more than 100 candidates for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations. The scholarship scheme has since expanded to benefit students across the wider federal constituency.
