Chaos as Angry Youths Attack Politicians During Road Project Flag-Off

Tension broke out in Tarabu village, Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, on Wednesday when angry youths @tt@cked top politicians during the flag-off of a road construction project by Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi.
The event, meant to launch the construction of a 23.4-kilometre Tarabu–Gafta road, turned chaotic as youths began pelting vehicles with stones shortly after the ceremony. Several government and police vehicles were damaged, including some in the governor’s convoy.
Among those who narrowly escaped the violence were Alhaji Muhammad Maji, Chairman of Kirikasamma Local Government Council, and Hon. Abubakar Fulata, who represents Guri/Kirikasamma/Birniwa Federal Constituency.
Eyewitnesses told reporters that the unrest was triggered by frustration among locals, who accused Fulata of neglecting his constituency and failing to deliver meaningful projects, unlike other lawmakers in neighbouring areas.
Meanwhile, in a separate development within the same community, a suspected r!+ualist narrowly escaped being lynched after he was allegedly caught trying to remove the eye of a corpse at a local cemetery.
According to witnesses, a resident who caught the man in the act quietly alerted others, who then surrounded and arrested the suspect identified simply as Malam. Upon realising he had been discovered, the suspect fled to the palace of the District Head of Kiri-Kasamma to seek protection but was quickly pursued by an angry mob.
The youths reportedly beat the suspect and vandalised a security vehicle before officers intervened, rescuing him and taking him into custody for further investigation.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of Jigawa State for comments were unsuccessful as his phone was unanswered at press time.
In a related story, police in Bauchi State arrested a 17-year-old boy, Auwalu Muhammad, for allegedly p1uck!ng out his sister’s eyes for r!+ual purposes. The suspect reportedly lured his sister, Rukayya Muhammad, into a bush in Ganjuwa Local Government Area, where he committed the heinous act in an attempt to gain wealth.
