CAN Names New Secretariat After Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, has named its newly inaugurated secretariat after Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.
The decision was announced during the commissioning ceremony of the new secretariat in Lagos and was described by church leaders as a recognition of the First Lady’s contributions to nation-building, women empowerment, and social development initiatives.
According to leaders of the Lagos CAN chapter, the naming of the secretariat was a gesture of appreciation for Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s longstanding involvement in public service and her support for humanitarian causes across the country.
Before becoming First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu served as a three-term senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District. Church leaders noted that her legislative efforts and advocacy for vulnerable groups have earned her admiration among many Christian communities.
The new secretariat is expected to serve as a hub for coordination of Christian activities, interdenominational engagement, and faith-based interventions in Lagos State.
The commissioning event attracted prominent clerics, political figures, and members of the Christian community.
