A boy reportedly swept away by floodwaters in a rural community in Enugu State has been rescued alive, a day after he went missing.

A video, which went viral on Wednesday, showed the boy being found and brought to safety, with the development triggering emotional reactions from those who witnessed the rescue.

A social media user, Uche Nworah, who posted the video said the incident occurred in Enugu State, although details about the boy’s identity and the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately available.

According to Nworah, the rescue came a day after the boy was swept away by flood.

Eyewitnesses were heard rejoicing and shouting, “Jesus, Igwe, Jesus, Igwe. Hallelyah.@

The rescue comes amid renewed concerns over the dangers posed by flooding, particularly in communities vulnerable to heavy rainfall and poor drainage.
