Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Communities, Kill Three, Injure Two; Police Recover Corpses

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked communities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing at least three residents and leaving two others injured in the latest assault on the beleaguered communities of the North-East.
The Nigeria Police Force, in its state-by-state executive summary of operational successes for September 26, 2026, obtained by SaharaReporters, confirmed that its operatives conducted an on-the-spot assessment following the reported attack on communities in Hong LGA.
According to the police in the statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu, three deceased victims were recovered and conveyed to the Federal Medical Centre, Hong, for post-mortem examination, while two injured victims were successfully evacuated to the medical facility for treatment.
Iniedu explained that joint security operatives are currently trailing the perpetrators.

In August 2026, suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Gaya-Dlang community in the same local government area, killing a police inspector and seven civilians and abducting four girls. Weeks later, terrorists invaded Bitirhuya community in Hong LGA, killing four residents and setting many houses ablaze, an attack that came barely a week after terrorists killed 12 people in Nzangola village of Gombi Local Government Area.
The Adamawa attack formed part of a nationwide police operations update that also recorded major breakthroughs in Sokoto and Gombe states.
In Sokoto State, police operatives and tactical teams, in collaboration with military personnel, successfully foiled an attack by armed bandits on vehicles conveying passengers on September 24, 2026.
The bandits were overpowered and forced to flee into a nearby forest, abandoning their victims. Thirty kidnapped victims were successfully rescued unhurt, while two injured victims were evacuated to a medical facility for treatment. The State Criminal Investigation Department, Sokoto, is investigating the incident.
In Gombe State, police operatives, in collaboration with other security personnel, conducted a clearance operation at Ribado Ward, Funakaye Local Government Area, between September 24 and 25, 2026.
Four suspected kidnappers were arrested, and two kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt. Operational pressure subsequently forced fleeing gang members to release another kidnapped victim, who was safely reunited with his family. Three motorcycles were recovered as exhibits. The State Criminal Investigation Department, Gombe, is investigating.
In Rivers State, police patrol operatives intercepted a suspected kidnap gang following a high-speed chase on September 24, 2026.
“One kidnapped victim was rescued, one suspected kidnapper was arrested, and one AK-47 rifle, three rounds of live ammunition and a tricycle bus were recovered.” The State Criminal Investigation Department, Port Harcourt, is investigating.
In Kaduna State, police operatives mobilised an Armoured Personnel Carrier patrol team to the scene of a bandit attack on September 24, 2026. Escape routes were strategically blocked to contain the perpetrators, and two injured victims were successfully evacuated to the General Hospital, Malumfashi, for medical attention.
In Lagos State, police operatives responded to a distress call concerning the theft of two vehicles on September 25, 2026. The suspects abandoned the vehicles and fled upon realising that police operatives were closing in. Both vehicles were recovered and secured at a police station. The State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, is investigating.
In Enugu State, police operatives and neighbourhood watch personnel raided a criminal hideout and arrested one suspect, recovering one locally-made pistol.
In Benue State, two suspected cultists were arrested during a routine patrol, with one locally fabricated revolver pistol, two expended rounds of ammunition, one mobile phone and charms recovered.
In the Federal Capital Territory, three suspicious persons were intercepted behind Maitama Extension. Following a hot chase, one suspect was arrested and provided information identifying his accomplices in cable vandalism.
In Ebonyi State, a suspect linked to the death of a victim who sustained severe burn injuries was arrested. The corpse was photographed and deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
In Ogun State, police detectives arrested a suspect in a suspected murder case, documented the scene through photographs, and deposited the corpse at the hospital morgue for autopsy. In a separate case, a suspect was arrested in connection with the death of a newborn following alleged medical intervention. Police also recovered a blood-stained bedsheet as an exhibit in another suspected murder investigation.
All cases are being investigated by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments, and urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely information.
