Former Big Brother Naija housemate Kess Adjekpovu has opened up about the challenges former contestants face after leaving the reality TV show, arguing that life can become even more complicated once the cameras stop rolling.

His comments come days after fellow former housemate Danboskid publicly opened up about hitting rock bottom and dealing with personal and family challenges.

Kess: Competition continues outside the house

Reflecting on the realities of life after the show, Kess said participating in BBNaija does not mean the competition ends when housemates leave the house.

“Big Brother makes your life harder,” he wrote.

“Winner or not, the moment you leave that house, you’re dealing with a version of life that is far more complicated than the one you left behind.”

In another post, Kess highlighted the large number of contestants the reality show has produced over the years, noting that competition exists both within the house and after the show.

“Big Brother Naija has dished out 249 housemates in 11 seasons. Competition inside and outside the show,” he wrote.

‘Words of encouragement’ are not enough

Kess further suggested that while former housemates often receive encouragement from fans and supporters after the show, they also face the practical challenge of finding ways to make money and maintain themselves.

“Everywhere, words of encouragement. Baba press money join,” he wrote.

His remarks have added to an ongoing conversation about the realities former BBNaija housemates face after gaining fame from the show, particularly the pressure to turn temporary popularity into sustainable careers and income.
