Bandits Lock 13 Family Members Inside Room, Burn Them To Death

In Zamfara

Bandits have reportedly killed 13 members of a family after locking them inside a room and setting their house ablaze in Gidan Taba community, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The victims, identified as Sani Ɗanwawo and his 12 family members, were reportedly burnt to death during the attack on Saturday night.

Bakatsine, a conflict reporter covering North-West Nigeria, disclosed the incident in a post on X on Sunday.

According to him, the assailants locked all 13 occupants inside a room before setting the house on fire, leaving none of them alive.

He described the incident as another tragic attack on innocent residents in Zamfara State.

Our heritage Reporter eports that the latest attack adds to the spate of deadly banditry incidents in the North-West, where armed groups have continued to terrorise rural communities, killing residents and abducting others.

In another development, our heritage Reporter reports that the Delta State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a clash at a political rally in Asaba, which left one person dead and five others injured.

The incident occurred at about 12:15 pm on Saturday along Nnebisi Road during a procession organised by the Obidient/OK Movement in support of the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In a statement signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Saturday, the police said they had received intelligence suggesting a likelihood of violence before the rally and invited the organisers to a security meeting.
