Bandits Kidnap Wife Of Kwara Community Head, Use Another Victim’s TikTok Account To Make Posts, Demand N20Million Ransom

A source who spoke with SaharaReporters said the incident has heightened fear among residents, as the attackers continue to target communities in Kwara South.

Suspected bandits have kidnapped a woman identified as Iya Ayoka, the first wife of the Baale (community head) of Dabu community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

SaharaReporters gathered that the latest abduction occurred on Friday night, August 21, 2026, when the bandits stormed the community and abducted the monarch’s wife.

A source who spoke with SaharaReporters said the incident has heightened fear among residents, as the attackers continue to target communities in Kwara South.

The source said the bandits have also been using the TikTok account of another kidnapped victim, a 23-year-old woman identified as Babatunde Fasilat, to make posts and communicate with the public.

Fasilat was reportedly abducted on July 26, 2026, in Wande community.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the bandits attacked Fasilat’s family after invading their home.

“Her father was shot and the bullet penetrated the other side of his body. The bandits were four. While her father was trying to defend himself, they went to her room and kidnapped her,” the source said.

The source added that the abductors are demanding ₦20 million as ransom for Fasilat’s release.

“Now they are demanding ₦20 million before they can release her, and they are using her TikTok account to make posts,” the source said.

The use of the kidnapped victim’s social media account has reportedly raised concerns among her family and residents, particularly because the account is being used to publish posts after her abduction.

The latest kidnapping of Iya Ayoka, the first wife of the Baale of Dabu, has further increased concerns over the worsening security situation in parts of Ifelodun Local Government Area, where residents have continued to express fears over attacks and abductions by armed groups.

The development comes amid persistent reports of kidnappings and other attacks by suspected bandits and terrorists in communities across Kwara State.

Residents are calling for urgent intervention by security agencies to protect vulnerable communities and rescue those being held by the attackers.
