Bandits Invade Kwara Community, Abduct Pregnant Woman, Two Others, Reportedly Steal N4Million

According to sources familiar with the incident, the gunmen initially invaded the community with the intention of robbing residents.

Terrorists suspected to be bandits have invaded Abudu Community in Apado Ward, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a pregnant woman and two other residents after reportedly carting away about ₦4 million during a late-night attack.

SaharaReporters gathered that the attack occurred on Tuesday night when the heavily armed assailants stormed the quiet community, throwing residents into panic as they carried out the operation.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the gunmen initially invaded the community with the intention of robbing residents.

During the attack, they stole approximately ₦4 million before abducting three victims, including a pregnant woman, and whisking them away to an unknown destination.

Confirming the incident in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government Area, Hon. Lukman Olayinka, assured residents that security agencies were making concerted efforts to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted victims.

Speaking in Yoruba, the council chairman expressed optimism that the victims would soon regain their freedom, stating that available intelligence suggested the kidnappers were primarily motivated by robbery.

“They won’t stay longer. The information we have is that those who were kidnapped won’t stay long,” Olayinka said.

“The kidnappers came with the aim of robbery; they came to steal money. But when they got to the community and saw the kind of money there, they believed the residents had even more money. But by God’s grace, they will be apprehended.”

However, the whereabouts of the three abducted victims, including the pregnant woman, remain unknown.
