The latest attack has heightened concerns over the persistent insecurity in parts of Zamfara State, where rural communities have continued to face recurring incidents of banditry, kidnappings and violent attacks.
A security analyst, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident in a post shared on Monday night, saying the assailants stormed the community and whisked away an unspecified number of residents.
According to the security analyst, “This evening, bandits raided Nassarawa Burkullu, near Bakin Gari in Bukkuyum LGA of Zamfara State, abducting several residents.”
The analyst added that “The attack has left the community in fear, with desperate appeals for urgent security intervention as families await news of their loved ones.”
Calling attention to the worsening security situation in rural communities, Bakatsine further asked, “How many more rural communities must live under the constant threat of abduction before lasting security becomes a reality?”

The latest incidents, which were disclosed by Security Expert Bakatsine, reportedly occurred on last week Wednesday and Thursday when armed gunmen invaded the victims’ farms while they were carrying out their daily farming activities.
According to the report, the attackers stormed the farms and whisked away several farmers to unknown destinations. However, the exact number of those abducted has yet to be confirmed, while their whereabouts and condition remain unknown.
