ATTACKING THE SPIRIT OF ERROR – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
*TEXT:*
1 John 4:6 KJV.
“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”
*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ The spirit of error can blindfold a man and lead him to do certain things or take certain decisions, thinking that he was on course.
☆☆☆ When a man is operating under the spirit of error, he cannot attain greatness in life.
☆☆☆ It is the spirit of error that will make a man to be making the same mistake again and again and expecting a different result.
☆☆☆ I want us to look at a few example of how the spirit of error can control the life of any man.
1. It is the spirit of error that makes a man to know the right thing to do but fails to do it.
Paul the apostle said👇
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do” – Romans 7:19.
☆☆☆ He knows that the decision he’s about to take is wrong but he will still go ahead with it. It is the spirit of error.
☆☆☆ For example, a man had a quarrel with his boss and he knew that he was wrong but instead of him to apologize, he decided to resign thinking that the company would beg him to stay. The company accepted his resignation and he regretted his actions thereafter.
2. The spirit of error can make a man to sell what is so valuable to him just to settle an immediate need.
☆☆☆That was exactly the case of Esau in Genesis 25:29-34.
☆☆☆ I heard the story of a lady who gave one of her kidneys to save the life of a man she loved so much and who she wanted to marry. Only for the man to reject her later and got married to the lady’s closest friend.
3. It is the spirit of error that will compel a young Christian lady to marry an unbeliever as husband thinking that she will convert him.
☆☆☆ This is the mistake most ladies make most times. Young lady, you aren’t the Holy Spirit. Remember what the bible says👇
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” – 2 Corinthians 6:14
4. The spirit of error is so powerful as to blindfold a man until he unconsciously falls into the ditch.
☆☆☆ How do you explain the story of a man who used his house to stand as collateral for the loan his childhood friend got from the bank. When the friend couldn’t pay back, the house was sold.
☆☆☆ This may sound unbelievable but it was the spirit of error at work.
5. The spirit of error can confuse a man and make him to insult and abuse his destiny helper.
☆☆☆ Many years ago a brother came to me for prayers. I prayed and was led to tell him not to fight with anyone within the next 3 days because help was coming his way and the devil wanted to block it. He left but came back 3 days later crying that he fought and lost a contract. How?
He had a blood brother in America who knew a woman who wanted to establish a branch of her business in Nigeria and was looking for a trusted individual who she could rely on to manage the Nigeria branch. So his brother recommended him and gave his address and picture to the woman for easy identification. The woman got to the address and found 2 people fighting. Looking at the picture on her hand, it was the man she was looking for who was fighting. The shirt he was wearing on the picture given to the woman was what he also put on that day. So the woman already knew that she had found the man she was looking for. So she tried to calm him down and pleaded with him to stop the fight. The brother looked at her with disdain and insulted her. Asking her if she knew what the other fellow he was fighting with had done to him. To cut the story short, when he eventually calmed down and the woman now mentioned the name of the fellow she was looking for and told him while she came all the way from America; the brother started begging but it was already too late.
☆☆☆ Beloved, you can pray yourself out of every spirit of error operating in your life.
*PRAYERS*
1. Oh you spirit of error, lose your hold over my life.
2. In the name of Jesus, I will not sell my birthright for a portion of food.
3. Oh God my father, don’t allow me to enter into an error that will truncate my destiny.
4. Polluters of destiny, my life is not a playing ground for you to operate, lose your hold over my life.
5. Oh God my father, let my life run according to the script you have written concerning me.
6. Oh you spirit of error, I’m not your candidate, I command your hand to wither over my life.
7. I will not unconsciously position myself as a tool in the hand of the devil to destroy my life.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
To somebody out there, I decree, every spirit of error, being projected into your life is hereby uprooted in Jesus name.
From today, I decree, you will no longer be comfortable doing the wrong things in Jesus name.
May you not be manipulated to go the opposite side of your assigned destiny helpers in Jesus name.
In the name of Jesus I decree, whatever good thing that the spirit of error has denied you off, shall the mercy of God restore to you in Jesus name.
May you no longer do contrary to the purpose for which you were created.
You will not become a useful tool in the hands of the wicked in Jesus name.
Step out and begin to fulfill the mandate of God for your life.
You are blessed in Jesus name.
