Atiku’s son, Shehu Abubakar gives update on Amaechi amid VP replacement rumour

Shehu Abubakar, son of former vice president Atiku Abubakar has seemingly responded to the speculations over former governor Rotimi Amaechi’s stance on his vice presidential nomination by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Shehu Abubakar through his X handle, revealed that he paid a visit to Rotimi Amaechi alongside with a man he described as his brother. According to him, the visit was necessary to acclimatize with Rotimi Amaechi whom he described as the incoming vice president of Nigeria.

Shehu Abubakar also stated in the tweet that he is ready to work with the former minister of transportation to rescue Nigeria from the ruling party, inadvertently confirming that Rotimi Amaechi has been ratified by the ADC as the party’s vice presidential candidate.

The two visits confirm that the speculation about Rotimi Amaechi declining the ADC VP nomination is false as well as the rumour that he will be replaced as the party’s presidential candidate.
