Assembly Reshuffles Leadership, Names New Principal Officers
The Benue State House of Assembly has dissolved its former leadership and appointed new principal officers to key positions.
In a statement on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Zape Michael Upaa, announced the changes.
According to the statement, Thomas Dugeri is now the Majority Leader, while Abraham Jabi has been named Deputy Majority Leader. Cyril Ikong takes over as Majority Chief Whip, with Simon Gabo as Deputy Majority Whip.
On the minority side, Abu Umoro has been appointed Minority Leader, Cephase Dyako as Deputy Minority Leader, Samuel Jiji as Minority Whip, and Moses Egbodo as Deputy Minority Whip.
The Assembly noted that more details on the reorganisation would be made available in due course.
