Army rescues mother, infant in Katsina
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued five abducted women, including a mother and her infant, during an operation in Katsina State.

In a post obtained from the Nigerian Army’s X handle on Thursday, the troops acted on intelligence about the movement of suspected terrorists around Madaci Forest in Sabuwa Local Government Area and quickly moved to intercept them.
According to the military, the operation caused “confusion in the enemy camp,” allowing the troops to rescue the victims.

The rescued persons included a mother and her infant, as well as three other minors and young adults from Danja and Funtua Local Government Areas.
The military said the victims were subsequently handed over to the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, Hon. Abubakar Musa, for reunification with their families.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt criminal activities and protect communities across the region.
Meanwhile, troops of the 248 Reconnaissance Battalion repelled a terrorist attack in Badiya Village, Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The troops, acting on intelligence about suspicious movements, engaged the attackers and forced them to retreat, according to the military.
The fleeing attackers also abandoned a large herd of rustled livestock, which was later returned to its rightful owners during a ceremony facilitated by the Shagari Local Government chairman and the local District Head.
The military said troops are maintaining “aggressive patrols” in the affected areas to deny criminals freedom of movement and support the restoration of normalcy.
