‘APC Members Wear Tinubu’s Cap in the Morning but Work Against Him at Night’ – Ndume
Senator Ali Ndume has raised concerns over alleged internal opposition within the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that some party members publicly demonstrate loyalty to President Bola Tinubu while working against him behind the scenes.

Ndume’s remarks align with Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s recent comments expressing concern over the possibility of an internal crisis within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Most APC members wear Tinubu’s cap in the morning, but work against him at night,” Ndume said.
Shettima had reportedly expressed greater concern about a potential crisis within the APC than the challenge posed by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, highlighting the importance of party unity.
Ndume’s comments draw attention to the challenges political parties can face when public displays of loyalty do not necessarily translate into internal agreement or coordinated support.
With the 2027 elections approaching, the remarks are likely to fuel further discussion about unity within the ruling party and the relationships among its leaders and members.
However, the allegations about party members working against Tinubu remain Ndume’s assessment and do not establish that the APC as a whole is opposed to the President.
Do you think internal divisions within the APC could become a major challenge for Tinubu ahead of 2027, or can the party resolve its differences before the election?
