Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, has donated a brand-new vehicle to Mrs. Racheal Folake Alamu, the principal of Ahoro Esin Ele Community High School in Oriire Local Government Area, whose car was destroyed by kidnappers during her ordeal.
Mrs. Alamu was among the victims abducted by armed terrorists in Oyo State and regained her freedom alongside other captives last Friday after spending days in captivity.
A video that surfaced shortly after her release touched the hearts of many Nigerians. While still in the forest and speaking with security operatives, the visibly exhausted principal repeatedly asked about the whereabouts of her husband and her car, unaware that the vehicle had been destroyed.
Subsequent reports revealed that the kidnappers had seized her vehicle during the abduction, used it for their operations, and later set it ablaze before fleeing.
Moved by her experience and the loss she suffered, Senator Sharafadeen Alli presented a replacement vehicle to Mrs. Alamu as a gesture of compassion and support, helping her recover from the traumatic incident and resume her normal life.
The donation has attracted widespread commendation from residents and supporters, with many describing it as a timely intervention that demonstrates empathy for victims of insecurity.
The incident has also renewed calls for stronger security measures across Oyo State and other parts of Nigeria to protect citizens, particularly teachers and other public servants who continue to face growing security threats while carrying out their duties.
Mrs. Alamu’s story has become a symbol of resilience, while the replacement of her burnt vehicle offers a measure of relief as she begins the process of rebuilding after her traumatic experience.
