The defendant entered her plea before the Anambra State High Court’s Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka.

A35-year-old woman, Anulika Nwokike Onyeanusi, has pleaded not guilty to a 14-count charge bordering on the alleged sexual abuse and exploitation of her two daughters, aged seven and nine, in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The defendant entered her plea before the Anambra State High Court’s Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka.
The charges reportedly include rape, using children for pornography, sexual exploitation, and emotional and psychological abuse.
Following the proceedings, Justice Peace Otti adjourned the case until November 27, 2026, for a ruling on the defendant’s bail application.
SaharaReporters had reported on September 11 that the Anambra State Police Command arrested a woman identified as Anulika Onyeanusia following the circulation of a disturbing video allegedly showing her sexually abusing a minor.
According to a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrest was made on the evening of Thursday, September 10, 2026, after police received information through open-source intelligence about the video circulating online.
The police said the footage showed a woman allegedly using sex toys on a minor, prompting operatives to launch an investigation.
The operation led to the woman’s arrest and the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine, according to the police.
Sex toys and other items considered relevant to the investigation were also recovered, the command said.
The police subsequently took the suspect into custody while investigators worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences and determine whether other people were involved.
The command also disclosed that the suspect’s husband was being interrogated to establish whether he had any connection with the alleged abuse.
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, expressed concern over the allegations and directed that the case be subjected to a thorough and professional investigation.
He also ordered that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.
According to the police, the welfare and safety of the children remained a priority, with plans to work alongside relevant child-protection authorities and support agencies to provide counselling and other assistance.
The command further said it would protect the children’s identities and privacy throughout the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
It also commended vigilante operatives, bloggers and residents whose information assisted the investigation and led to the suspect’s arrest, urging members of the public to provide credible information that could help prevent child abuse and exploitation.
