Adeyemi Varsity Gets New Imam

The Muslim Community, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, (AFUED) Ondo has announced the emergence of Dr. I.K. Odeniyi as the new chief Imam in the University.

Dr. Odeniyi, a lecturer in the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Arts, was first nominated by the Muslim Community preceding his announcement as the University Imam.

The appointment, which was confirmed on August 2, 2025 was made public in a statement signed by the Chairman of the Muslim Community, Prof. R.O. Oloyede.

The Muslim Community expressed confidence in Dr. Odeniyi’s ability to uphold the responsibilities of the office and also directed that all official correspondence, inquiries, and communications related to the University Imam should henceforth be directed to Dr. Odeniyi, whose contact details have been made available for phone and Whatsapp communication.

His appointment is expected to enhance religious life on campus, promote unity among Muslim staff and students, and reinforce the university’s commitment to faith and service.
