Adelegbe’s Media Team Defends Lawmaker, Highlights Alleged Marginalisation of Owo and Ose APC Leaders

…..Insists Owo/Ose APC Stands Firm Behind Lawmaker Ahead of General Election….

The media team of Otunba Timehin Adelegbe has strongly dismissed a Facebook statement credited to Olasupo Olakunori Michael, Director-General of the Opemuloro Group, describing it as “mischievous, misleading, and a misrepresentation of the wishes of the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.”

In a statement issued to our heritage Reporter online by the Director of Media and Publicity, Hon. Olaniyi Eni-Olotu, the team defended Adelegbe’s remarks at a recent APC leaders’ meeting in Owo, insisting the lawmaker merely raised genuine concerns over the alleged marginalisation of party elders while reaffirming that APC leaders remain united in their support for his re-election.

Full statement reads……..

RE-ADELEGBE’S FACEBOOK OUTBURST IS MISCHIEVOUS, MISLEADING AND DOES NOT REPRESENT THE WISHES OF OWO/OSE PEOPLE.

Our attention has just been drawn to the above press statement issued by one Olasupo Olakunori Michael, who claims to be  the DG of Opemuloro Group.

We would have chosen not to join issues with him, but for the need to set the records straight.

In the said circulated video that was recorded at the Owo APC Elders and leaders meeting with Otunba Timehin Adelegbe in  Owo town recently, the lawmaker, while thanking all the party leaders for their unflinching support, he also  expressed his displeasure about the way and manner some notable elders and leaders of the party in Owo were being treated.

He narrated how many of them were being intimidated, harrassed and completely relegated to the background by some individuals at the Ondo State corridor of power, while nothing had been done by the state party leadership to address the ugly trend.

He frowned at a situation where some of the party leaders were forcefully arrested, whisked to Abuja, and later charged to court at the instance of a member of the Ondo State Cabinet that seemed to be hell bent on forcing them into political retirement.

Otunba Adelegbe did  explain how several efforts made by the party leaders in Owo to meet with the State Governor were thwarted.

According to the lawmaker, the planned intervention of the highly revered Owo traditional council in the matter was deliberately disallowed as the concerned parties deliberately  churned their invitation.

He berated a situation where the State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dr. Olayide Adelami mni and all other prominent, and notable leaders of the party in Owo and Ose, no longer have a say in the party affairs, having been completely relegated to the background and schemed out.

However, the leaders of APC in Owo are delighted to have the mandate of Otunba Adelegbe restored by the Appeal Committee and the NWC of the APC. They have promised to vote massively for him once again in the general election, being a responsive and responsible representative that has performed creditably well so far.

They described his achievements in the areas of infrastructural developments, massive empowerment programmes, and quality representation as one that is unprecedented in the history of the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

This same position was reiterated and re-echoed  recently by the Owo APC leaders at the meeting held with the two lawmakers representing Owo State Constituencies in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogunmolasuyi and Hon. Morenike Atinuke Whitherperson, where they expressed their satisfaction with the findings and recommendations of the APC appeal committee.

It is hoped that with the reconciliatory move now being initiated by the State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, every issue of concerns raised by Otunba Adelegbe at the said meeting will be well looked into and properly addressed by the party’s  state leadership with a view to creating a sense of belonging to every relevant stakeholder of our great party in Ondo State .
