The head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, indicated that the former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, requires his assistance to secure the position of governor in Oyo State.
As per a report from Nigerian Tribune on Monday, May 4, 2026, during a service at the church, Ayodele informed his audience that Adelabu’s chance of succeeding in the 2027 election hinges on something he believes he possesses. He implied that without this factor, Adelabu’s chances of winning could diminish.
Ayodele referred to Adelabu as someone who is close to him but maintained that he currently lacks a crucial element essential for success. He asserted that this important attribute is with him and encouraged Adelabu to seek it out. He mentioned that his message originates from what he considers a divine command.
The clergyman expressed his strong belief in his statement and invited anyone who questions him to challenge it, emphasizing that he is sharing what he feels was revealed to him by God.
In other news, Adelabu has made his intentions clear to pursue the governorship of Oyo State in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has already secured the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination documents.
Adelabu has vowed to foster growth in the state if he wins, with an emphasis on enhancing infrastructure and improving the general well-being of the citizens.
Ayodele’s remarks have generated various responses, prompting discussions about the influence of spirituality in politics.
