Adeboye Asked Me, Can I Pray for You? I Said No Problem, But I’m Not Going to Close My Eyes— Sowore

Omoyele Sowore has narrated his meeting with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), during an interview with SYMFONI TV.

Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI TV, Sowore explained that he attended the meeting after being invited by his party chairman, who is also an RCCG pastor. He said he was surprised when Adeboye invited people to give their lives to Christ during his sermon.

According to Sowore, he was later told that Adeboye wanted to meet him privately in a church vestry. During their discussion, the pastor told him that he knew him well, regularly prayed for him, and believed he would succeed.

Sowore recalled that he had first met Adeboye in 1996 when he sought the pastor’s support for a campaign against cultism in Nigerian universities. He said Adeboye supported the cause by arranging a donation of ₦10,000 to his organisation.

Sowore added that before they parted ways during their recent meeting, Adeboye asked for permission to pray for him. He agreed but made it clear that he would keep his eyes open during the prayer.
