Abefe Ibadiaran Shares Emotional Account of Family Rift Involving Former Governor Fayose
A fresh wave of family tension has emerged within the household of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, as his sister, Abefe Ibadiaran, has come forward with a troubling narrative about the treatment of their elderly mother.
In her emotional account, Abefe revealed that she had repeatedly pleaded with her elder brother, Ayo Fayose, to show compassion and refrain from actions that could harm their aging mother. According to her, those appeals have continually fallen on deaf ears.
The latest disagreement reportedly began when their mother required urgent surgery. Abefe stated that their brother Isaac had first shared the medical situation publicly on social media, prompting Ayo Fayose to initially approve and arrange for the surgical procedure. However, things took a dramatic turn when he allegedly canceled the operation, claiming their mother had visited Isaac and other children in Abuja without his permission.
Abefe explained that she begged her elder brother to reconsider the decision, emphasizing their mother’s fragile health, but he refused to reverse his stance.
In a bid to save their mother, Isaac Fayose reportedly contacted the doctor and offered to personally cover the full cost of the operation, amounting to ₦15 million. Surprisingly, the doctor allegedly declined the offer, insisting that he had been instructed by Ayo Fayose not to proceed with the surgery under any circumstances.
Expressing her heartbreak, Abefe said she cares deeply for her mother and brothers, but the ongoing hostilities have made family unity increasingly difficult. She further noted that instances of disrespect toward their mother from some of Ayo Fayose’s children were not new to the family.
