A False Narrative Dismantled: Hon. Biodun Omoleye’s Impact Cannot Be Erased
In response to a recent and baseless report circulated by a faction of the Catholic NUJ alleging that Hon. Biodun Omoleye has achieved little or nothing as a Member of the House of Representatives, it has become necessary to speak up—not out of sentiment, but from a place of truth, facts, and verified records.
As someone who follows political development across constituencies and interacts directly with communities, I, Hon. Idowu Afuye, CEO of ISA POL CONSULTANCY INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION FIRM, can boldly affirm that Hon. Biodun Omoleye’s performance as MHR is not only commendable but worthy of emulation.
A clear and recent example is the Empowerment Programme held in April at Ijurin-Ekiti, where Hon. Omoleye provided tools and support to numerous constituents. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Odunayo Awe, a tailor from Ipoti-Ekiti, received a sewing machine which she described as life-changing.
According to her, “I had been struggling for a long time because I didn’t have the tools to practise my trade, but everything changed the day Hon. Omoleye gave me this sewing machine. It was an answer to my prayers.”
Today, Mrs. Awe operates confidently in her newly set-up shop and is already financially independent. Her story is just one out of many unpublicized success stories scattered across the constituency, thanks to Hon. Omoleye’s deliberate efforts to promote self-reliance among women and youths.
It is quite disturbing that a group expected to uphold ethical standards and objectivity could release such a survey-based report without proper fieldwork or stakeholder engagement. Real development isn’t driven by online narratives but by actual impacts on the ground—impacts that can be touched, seen, and attested to by the beneficiaries themselves.
Hon. Omoleye’s representation is marked by meaningful empowerment, infrastructural interventions, human capital development, and legislative engagements—all aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to his people. He has consistently empowered artisans, traders, students, and farmers—not with empty promises, but with practical support.
To those who spread false narratives, we say this: come down to the people, walk the streets of the constituency, visit the shops of beneficiaries like Mrs. Awe, and speak with residents who are witnesses to the ongoing transformation.
This is not the time for politically motivated distractions. It is the time to focus on truth, service, and developmental impact.
Hon. Biodun Omoleye has delivered. He is still delivering. And his constituents are the living proof.
