X users threaten to boycott Davido’s concerts over Adeleke’s support for Tinubu

Some Nigerian social media users have threatened to boycott Davido’s upcoming ‘Oriadé: The Residency’ concert over his uncle’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 election.
Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle and Osun governor, has been vocal about supporting Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 despite being a member of the Accord Party.
On Wednesday, Adeleke was named Tinubu’s campaign coordinator in Osun.
A day later, Davido posted ticket details for the concert he had announced will hold on December 17, 18 and 19, 2026, at the National Theatre in Lagos.
The post quickly sparked heated discussions on X, with users calling for fans to boycott the concerts.
In August, Davido clarified that he will not back APC in the 2027 presidential election, despite his uncle’s support for Tinubu. But the clarification proved futile, as several X users described the singer as a “betrayer” and “hypocrite”.
Some users sarcastically suggested that Davido should rely on his family members and the APC to fill the venue.
Others, however, argued that social media does not reflect real life, expressing confidence that the venue would be filled on the day of the concert.
