Enugu Varsity Sacks Staff For Issuing Fake Transcripts

Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has dismissed a member of its staff for forging transcripts of the university.

The victim, Mrs Fidelia Ochasi, an official of the university’s Industrial Training Unit, was found guilty of the offence after a thorough investigation, the university said.

Her dismissal is contained in a letter dated August 6, 2026 and signed by the Registrar, Mr Ambrose Ugwu. According to the university, her dismissal was sequel to the consideration by the university management of the report and recommendations of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee on the matter.

“The management, after deliberations, found her guilty and ordered her dismissal from the services of the university with effect from August 5, 2026,” the report read.

She was also directed to hand over all university property in her possession to the Director of Industrial Training Unit, ITU ESUT.

Meanwhile, students of the university have commended the government of Enugu State for the quick resolution of its disagreement which led to the recent strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of the University, ESUT chapter.

Dorothy Nnamani, a student, said, the resolution is a welcome development.

“The students are happy, especially those in the final year,” Nnamani told our correspondent. “We also hope the implementation of the agreements will be seamlessly carried out. We thank the state for attending to the matter urgently.”
