Police Arrests Man For Allegedly Killing Dad, Dumping Corpse In Well

The arrest followed a report received by operatives of the Command, prompting an immediate investigation into the shocking incident.

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Peter Sinamai, over the alleged murder of his biological father, whose body was reportedly dumped in a village well in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

The arrest followed a report received by operatives of the Command, prompting an immediate investigation into the shocking incident.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his biological father before dumping the corpse in a well within their community in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.”

He added, “The victim’s body has been recovered from the well and deposited in a mortuary for an autopsy.”

Nguroje further stated, “The Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Umar Hassan, has directed a discreet and thorough investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”

He added that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Condemning the alleged act, the Police Commissioner described it as reprehensible and assured residents that the Command would ensure justice is served.

According to Nguroje, the Commissioner also urged members of the public to embrace lawful and peaceful means of resolving family disputes.

“Rather than resorting to violence, people should seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise,” he quoted the Commissioner as saying.
