Abia Police Arrest Man Seen Ass∆ulting Woman in Viral Social Media Video

Operatives of the Abia State Police Command’s Violent Crimes Response Unit (VCRU) arrested a man for violently assaulting a woman. He was tracked down and apprehended on June 20, 2026, in the Ogbor Hill area of Aba, Abia State.

The man, identified in viral footage, is currently in police custody while investigations continue. The arrest was carried out by the Violent Crimes Response Unit (VCRU), led by Emeka Amanchukwu.

The apprehension was prompted by widespread public outrage after a distressing 58-second video circulated online showing the man repeatedly punching the woman’s face and putting her in a chokehold.
