Nigerian Troops Arrest Boko Haram Logistics Supplier, Informant In Maiduguri
The suspect, identified as Mohammed Bulama, a resident of Mafa Local Government Area, was apprehended during an intelligence-led surveillance operation within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council area.
Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division Provost Group have arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of providing logistics and intelligence support to Boko Haram terrorists operating in Borno State.
The suspect, identified as Mohammed Bulama, a resident of Mafa Local Government Area, was apprehended during an intelligence-led surveillance operation within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council area.
SaharaReporters gathered that Bulama was arrested at about 4:30pm on June 1 at Ngawom, Muna Garage, following sustained monitoring by security operatives.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly supplied logistical assistance and sensitive information to members of the terrorist group.
A security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, quoting military sources, disclosed that Bulama admitted during interrogation that he had links with other insurgent operatives active in the region.
The suspect reportedly expressed willingness to cooperate with security agencies by providing information that could lead to the identification and arrest of other members of the terrorist network.
Military authorities have since placed the suspect in the custody of the 7 Division Provost Group, where further investigations are ongoing.
