I’m Back At The University Teaching, So Don’t Talk About Former Gov, That’s Not What I’m Now -Fayemi

The previous governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, expressed his desire to be seen more as a scholar and educator than as an ex-governor.

In a discussion with EDMUND OBILO, Fayemi shared that politics and holding public office are merely segments of his contribution to society, emphasizing that his main career lies in academia.

He mentioned that he has resumed his role in university teaching and research, pointing out that being governor was merely a brief role and not the true essence of his professional journey.

He stated,

“I have another identity. You consistently refer to me as a former governor. That was simply a job, not my career. I went into public service to help others. My core identity is that of a scholar and educator. I am back to teaching at the university. So please refrain from calling me a former governor. That’s not who I am now.”
