Sheikh Bukar Kashim Goni, an Islamic cleric, has denied any involvement in an alleged coup plot, insisting that the ₦10 million he received was strictly for prayers and not connected to any conspiracy. His clarification comes amid growing public attention around claims linking him to the alleged plan.
According to him, the money in question was given for spiritual purposes and had no political or unlawful undertone. He maintained that his role as a cleric is purely religious, stressing that he has never participated in or supported any form of political destabilisation.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations, while the cleric’s statement seeks to distance himself from any suggestion of wrongdoing.
